GO GO GO GOVINDA
By
reciting one Hare Krishna mantra a child is chosen to be Krishna. The
child stands in one spot which represents the spiritual world. The
other children stand in a line about forty yards (35m) away which
indicates the material world. They are devotees trying to advance and
reach the spiritual world. Krishna turns His back to the other children
and says “Go, Go, Go, Govinda!” He says “Go” as many times as He wants,
and during that time the devotees run towards Him to try to reach Him.
Then Krishna sends back to the starting line (that is, to the material
world) anyone He sees moving when He turns around. Then He turns His
back and chants “Go, Go, Go, Govinda!” the game goes on in way until a
child succeeds in touching Him before being seen. That child plays
Krishna in the next game.
