THE WRESTLING OF THE COWHERD BOYS
Two
teams are formed. They are cowherd boys playing in the forests of
Vrindavana while tending the cows. Krishna is on one team. Balarama on
the other. Some children join Krishna’s side, some Balarama’s. There
should be an equal number of children on each team. Each cowherd boy
wrestles with another cowherd boy of the opposite party. They choose
partners of similar strength. Each wrestler must try to make his foe
fall down to the ground and keep him there for a few seconds. The team
that succeeds wins. The members of the defeated camp must carry the
winners on their backs.
